Description of Personal Enrichment Program
Shiloh University offers its courses for Personal Enrichment. Courses are excellent for continuing training of lay ministers such as elders and deacons. Congregants may wish to take personal enrichment to deepen their individual spiritual life.
Courses taken for personal enrichment include most of the same course materials as the degree programs, but courses are offered on a credit/no-credit basis, and do not require the level of writing and scholarship demanded by the degree programs. Course work typically includes readings, lecture materials, and participation in online class discussions. No grades are given beyond credit/no credit. Credit is awarded only if a student chooses to complete tests and assignments and earns 60% or better.
The recommended time for a 3-unit course is estimated at 6 to 8 hours per week.
Courses taken for Personal Enrichment are not transferable to degree programs.
Note: Shiloh University will work with local churches to award certificates of completion for ministry training courses taken as personal enrichment.
