Bachelor's Program

Students submit the following:

  • Completed application form 
  • Personal Essay
  • References from: 
    • Pastor 
    • Church member 
    • Teacher or counselor (if within the past year) 
  • Mentor Form
  • High school transcripts
  • College/junior college transcripts (if applicable)
  • ACT/SAT test scores (see “Prerequisites” below)
  • Photocopy of a government issued identification card

Prerequisites: 

  • Applicant must have graduated from high school or earned a passing grade from the General Education Development (GED) test. 
  • Applicants are encouraged to sit for the ACT (American College Testing Assessment Test) or the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). However, neither of these two tests are required for admission to Shiloh University.

Transfer of Credits:

  • Up to 60 units of general education and elective courses from an accredited college may be transferred. The academic department will evaluate transfer credits. General education for Shiloh University consists of:
    • Introductory: 1 unit
    • Communication – writing: 6 units
    • Communication – speech: 3 units
    • History / cultures: 6 units
    • Humanities: 9 units
    • Mathematics: 3 units
    • Science: 6 units
    • Social Science: 9 units   
  • Transfer Credits toward Core Courses:
    • Up to one fourth of core bachelor courses (15 semester units) may be made up of transfer credits from an accredited biblical studies program. The academic department will evaluate transfer credits. 
  • The minimum grade point average (GPA) for transfer courses is 2.0.
  • Credit earned on examinations such as the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) program, and other widely accepted examinations may be considered for transfer of General Education credit.

Admissions Probation:

  • If a student has not met the admissions GPA prerequisites, but shows a strong indication of success in the Bachelor’s Program, they will be placed on admissions probation. The student will be on admissions probation for the first 15 units and must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in all classes. 

English Language Requirement:

Prospective students who are not native English language speakers are required to demonstrate proficiency in one of the following ways.

  • By submitting a satisfactory Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL score). The minimum internet based (iTOEFL) score is 61 or paper based (pTOEFL) is 500 for Undergraduate students. Information about the TOEFL test can be found at www.ets.org/toefl/
  • By submitting a satisfactory International English Language Test Score (IELTS). The minimum score is 6.0 for Graduate students. Information about the IELTS can found at www.ielts.org/
  • By submitting a transcript indicating completion of at least 30 semester hours of credit at an English speaking accredited college or university. Student must have maintained a ‘C’ grade point average or higher and all non-U.S. transcripts may need to be reviewed by the World Education Services before they can be accepted for transfer credit.
  • By submitting a transcript indicating completion of an English Composition course offered by an English speaking accredited college or university.  Student must have received a ‘C’ grade or higher and all non-U.S. transcripts may need to be reviewed by the World Education Services before they can be accepted for transfer credit.

Transcript Evaluation for Foreign Students:

  • Students whose previous education did not take place in the United States will need to work with the WES (World Education Services) to have their educational experience evaluated. For information on the evaluation process refer to the World Education Services website at www.wes.org
